The one tool that you did not mention was a wiki. I have used one the last several years for collaboration between my students and a place to showcase projects. We do blog but I like wikis for projects.

I’m back to school tomorrow and looking forward to getting started with Google Apps later this term. I’d be keen to get involved with any collaborative project as I think that will really enthuse the kids, knowing that they are part of something much bigger than just our class. We are only a small school (just three classes) and I teach Years 4/5/6. Being so small means there are few other children their own age in the class, so I’m always on the look out for ways to make contact with other children their age.

Good luck with all you’ve got planned this year. I am going to try and make Google Docs a major part of what we do. Hopefully, the majority of our writing will be done using it. Eventually, I’m hoping, that will lead to a more collaborative approach within our class and then outside of it.

I am really keen to try Voice thread as well. I don’t know enough about it yet though.
